Keeping track of changing times... if you're looking for the blog that chronicles our 2007 trip to Ireland and Poland, that's now relocated to another site.
In July 2005 I was appointed the Associate Dean of the School of Media Arts at Columbia College Chicago, where I am also a tenured associate professor. That same weekend I completed graduate studies at Goddard College, in Plainfield, Vermont, and was awarded the degree of MFA in Writing. Since 1990 I have taught a course in Politics and the Media, first as a Columbia adjunct, then full time since 1998. I still teach one or two online sections of PR Writing each semester. I've published three books, including a memoir of Chicago's "Council Wars," Harold Washington: The Mayor, The Man." My MFA thesis was a (still unpublished) novel of Chicago politics, based on my experiences as press secretary to Chicago mayor Harold Washington, titled Chicago Power and Light."My website is at altonmiller.com.>
